I was watching the BET awards with my husband recently and there was a special award given to Smokie Robinson – The Soul Legend!
Prior to him being given this award – there was a short clip of some of his most popular songs. The voice over lady mentioned Smokie’s songs will pass the test of time simply because we will all experience love, heartbreak and whatever life throws at us.
I thought hmmm how interesting that this was being said about a man. When infact God’s words – the Holy Bible inspired by the Holy Spirit is what we truly need to get us through life. God’s words, His promises, His instructions is the GPS we need to navigate through life. Each time we read it, we get a fresh revelation, a fresh insight on how to ‘do’ life.
The living word of God can and has pass(ed) the test of time. The promises of God are unfailing!! God is trustworthy!! Whatever you’re going through in life, firstly it is not uncommon – it is not peculiar to you or your family. Secondly, you can find comfort, love, joy, peace and guidance in the word of God.
God’s word is timeless (unchangeable) and timely!!!
