He’s Good Good Father!
I’m not talking about my biological father, although he was a very good man. I was unfortunate to have only known him for 6 years before he passed away (Dance With My Father)
I am talking about my Heavenly Father!
You see for me, it’s easy to talk about God as my Father, because He has been constant in my life. When I think about a Father – The thoughts swimming through my head are:
- Provider
- Protector
- Deliverer/Saviour like a Superhero kinda guy
- Teacher
- Helper
- Friend
God has been ALL of these to me and much more.
Despite losing my parents at a young age, He has filled my life with good things, so that my life story isn’t centered on me being an orphan.
My story is that I am a child of God and ALL things will work out for my good because I love Him and I’ve been called by Him.
As I grow in my walk with Him, God reveals His character to me. Similar to any earthly father, the older we get, the more we get to know our parents and what they’re capable of and how they react to different situations.
Remember though, that for any relationship to grow and flourish, one must invest time. You must be intentional about spending time with God, through:
- Praying
- Reading His word (The Holy Bible)
- Spending time with other Christians
If you have a busy schedule, you may want to start with just 10-15 minutes on a daily basis, see how you get on.
Like any loving relationship, you’ll soon find that the closer you get, the more you yearn to spend time in His presence.
